Hurricane Maria expected to cause closures, delays

Courts have begun closing in Puerto Rico and are expected to remain closed in the coming days.

As a result, we anticipate delays in obtaining information from sources in the areas affected by the storm.

As of Wednesday, Sept. 20, we have begun to experience difficulties in conducting searches of the Puerto Rico sex offender registry. This also impacts our ability to conduct searches of the national sex offender registry since we are unable to access this Puerto Rico-specific source.

UPDATE: The island of Puerto Rico is completely without electricity, according to spokesman from the governor's office. Delays in turnaround times for searches and drug tests conducted in Puerto Rico are expected.

We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide updates as they become available.
