CALIFORNIA: Bill prohibits inquiry into an applicant's cannabis use
Summary: Effective January 1, 2024, Bill 700 will prohibit an employer from requesting information from an applicant as to the applicant's prior cannabis use. The bill does not preempt state or federal laws related to requiring applicants to be drug tested. The bill provides for an exception for building and construction trades.
