Alere eScreen receives approval from DOT to electronically process drug tests

As an Alere eScreen partner, Truescreen will soon be able to conduct DOT-regulated drug tests using the newly-approved electronic custody and control forms (eCCFs) through the Alere eScreen platform at over 3,000 sites nationwide.

The approval provides Department of Transportation-regulated employees the ability able to utilize the same eCCFs that non-regulated companies have been using for over a decade.

Previously, DOT-regulated drug tests required the use of a less expedient five-part paper form that was used to collect urine specimens and track handling at collection sites. The paperless procedure will provide Truescreen clients with a less labor-intensive method that provides end-to-end tracking of the entire drug screening process.

Alere eScreen has advised Truescreen that this process is currently in testing and is expected to be implemented by mid-November.
