DOT to add opioids to transportation worker drug testing panel

The Department of Transportation (DOT) will expand its current panel to include testing for semi-synthetic opioids hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxymorphone and oxycodone.

The final rule was published by the DOT on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, and will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2018.

On Jan. 1, 2018, Truescreen-affiliated laboratories will update all DOT-required drug tests to include these new substances.
