CBP issued a General Notice in the Federal Register announcing that effective May 26, 2022, the issuance of Forms I-94 at land borders would be automated. The Form I-94 process is currently automated for nonimmigrants arriving by air or sea but those arriving by land are issued paper Forms I-94. This will automate the process, regardless of manner of entry.
Forms I-94 are issued to each arriving nonimmigrant who is admitted to the United States as evidence of terms of admission or parole. In some circumstances, Forms I-94 may be used to establish employment eligibility, enroll in a university, or obtain benefits.
Hereafter, Forms I-94 issued at land borders will only be accessible through CBP's website and can be printed in the format found below.
