Timely SSA Resolutions on E-Verify TNC's Resume

Beginning July 15, 2022, employees referred to the Social Security Administration (SSA) on an E-Verify Tentative Non-Confirmation (TNC) will have the standard timeframe to resolve the issue.

E-Verify previously provided extended timeframes for employees with an SSA TNC result. This measure was taken due to public or private office closures that prevented individuals from resolving the mismatch in person at an SSA field office.

For E-Verify cases referred on or after July 15, 2022, employees will have the standard 8 federal working days to contact their local SSA office.

Employers are encouraged to find employees with an SSA mismatch between March 2, 2020 and July 14, 2022 and review the date on their employee's Referral Date Confirmation. The USCIS prefers that employees aim to resolve their mismatches by the following dates:

If the date on the employee's Referral Date Confirmation is:

Then you should contact SSA between:

March 2 to December 31, 2020 October 1 to December 31, 2022
January 1 to December 31, 2021 January 1 to March 31, 2023
January 1 to July 14, 2022 April 1 to June 30, 2023

All employees must resolve SSA mismatches by a final deadline of September 29, 2023, or their case will automatically result in a Final Nonconfirmation.

Truescreen will inform clients of their impacted cases in the second half of July.
