Utah Requires Private Employers with 150+ Employees to Utilize E-Verify

Effective May 4, 2022 Utah companies who employ 150 or more employees may not hire a new employee unless they are registered with, and uses, a "status verification system" (E-Verify) that verifies the employment authorization status of each new employee.

Employers are exempt from this requirement if the employee is a foreign national present in the United States pursuant to an approved H-2A or H-2B visa petition filed by the employer.
