Hurricane Ida, which made landfall this past Sunday, August 29th, continues to disrupt services, which are still being felt throughout Mississippi and Tennessee. Service disruptions are likely to continue due to power outages, property damage, and hazardous travel conditions in storm-affected areas. Workplace testing has been affected as collection sites in impacted areas and along the East Coast experience closures due to severe weather. Patient Service Centers may also have unexpected closures or reduced hours of operations.
Quest Diagnostics
The anticipated high winds may also impact Quest Air and commercial flights, putting a strain on logistics efforts from the affected areas. Quest Diagnostics is already seeing delays with FedEx shipments and some Quest Air shipments to their Lenexa, Kansas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania laboratories on 8/31 and 9/1, when the storm will be at its peak.
Labcorp
It is advised that subjects verify hours of operation for Patient Service Centers (PSC's) by visiting the Labcorp.com website. Tropical storm Ida continues to be a severe weather event and to avoid delays as a result of this dangerous storm it is important to confirm your visit to Labcorp locations in advance.
At this time all operations will continue as usual, however please expect that there will be delayed turnaround times over the coming days as Quest and Labcorp deal with impact of Tropical Storm Ida.
We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available. If you have questions, please contact your sales executive, account manager, or our customer service team.
