Update: Delays Expected Due to Storms in the Gulf Coast

In anticipation of severe weather events expected to make landfall in the region of the Gulf Coast, several areas have mandatory evacuation orders in place and courthouses in this area have begun closing their doors.


In Louisiana, multiple courthouses are now closed, including Ascension, Assumption, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Saint James, St. Mary, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Vermilion, and West Baton Rouge.

In Texas, multiple courthouses are now closed as well, including Hardin, Jefferson, Newton, and Orange.

As such, records from these jurisdictions may be delayed depending on when courthouses reopen. We continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates as they become available.
