Visitors to the website from all 50 states will now have the opportunity to create a myE-Verify account which will allow them to take advantage of all the features myE-Verify offers.
The myE-Verify website provides workers and job seekers with access to Self Check, a free, Web-based service that allows users to check their employment eligibility status against E-Verify, the system used by employers that compares information from employees’ Form I-9 to data from the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration to determine whether or not employees are eligible to work in the United States.
In addition to being able to compare their information against E-Verify, those who elect to create a myE-Verify account will have access to additional features, including Self Lock. Self Lock enables myE-Verify account owners to protect their identities by inhibiting illicit use of their Social Security number within E-Verify.
Those who choose not to create a myE-Verify account will still have access to Self Check as well as myResources, the hub of information – presented in several media formats and multiple languages – regarding workers’ and job seekers’ privacy, rights, roles and their employers’ responsibilities as they relate to the E-Verify program.
