As a result of these emergency measures taken by Indian governments, the police have suspended certain public services including criminal record inquiries. Local police checks are not currently available and will remain unavailable for the foreseeable future. Until the police resume normal operations, we will be conducting court record checks. This should not cause any significant delays.
Travel is still restricted, especially in areas with strict lockdowns. In these areas, banks, post offices, and businesses may also be closed. There will continue to be delays to components including education and employment checks. We are actively monitoring this work and will provide updates as they become available.
